| Welcome to Eugene, Lane Community College, and the University of Oregon for this year’s ACUI Region 14 conference! We are excited for you to join us for a variety of excellent speakers, educational sessions, and other activities, during which you will experience our theme and conference focuses. Our theme is A Gathering of Heroes. You will hear about many types of heroes during the conference, from your favorite comic book superheroes, to the student union leaders who are heroes every day. A few of ACUI’s core competencies inspired the primary focuses for this conference. Speakers, sessions, and activities will allow you to further explore: Intercultural Proficiency, Leadership, and Student Learning. The sustainable and creative culture of Eugene, LCC, and the UO inspired our own unique focus: Innovation in Sustainability. Sustainability is a key component in the missions of LCC and the UO.
